What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Improve the accuracy of outpatient clinical documentation coding and charging
Provide education and support to clinical departments and coding staff
Assist in documenting services and understanding the relationship between documentation and charging
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures in coding and charging practices
Review health records to determine applicable charges and codes for facility billing
What is Required (Qualifications):
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CPC-Certified Professional Coder, COC-Certified Outpatient Coder, RHIA, or RHIT certification
Minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience in coding and billing
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding processes, and billing functions
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (EPIC preferred)
Strong project management and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and department heads
Knowledge of outpatient national correct coding edits and reimbursement structures
