What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Improve the accuracy of outpatient clinical documentation coding and charging
Educate clinical departments and coding staff on documentation practices
Assist clinical areas in effectively documenting services provided
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to coding and charging
Review health records to determine applicable charges and codes for billing
What is Required (Qualifications):
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Certification as a CPC-Certified Professional Coder, COC-Certified Outpatient Coder, RHIA-Registered Health Information Administrator, or RHIT-Registered Health Information Technician
Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding processes, and billing functions
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems, preferably EPIC
Strong project management and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and diverse teams
