What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Improve the accuracy of outpatient clinical documentation coding and charging
Educate clinical departments and coding staff on documentation policies and procedures
Assist clinical areas in understanding the relationship between documentation and charging
Review health records to determine applicable charges and codes for billing
Utilize official coding and billing resources to ensure compliance with regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CPC, COC, RHIA, or RHIT certification required
Minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding processes, and hospital-based outpatient charging
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Familiarity with Revenue Cycle applications and billing functions
Strong project management and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of Medicare APC and OPPS reimbursement structures
Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong problem‑solving and investigative skills
