Role: Senior Controls Engineer - Process Controls
Unique career opportunity offering UNLIMITED GROWTH POTENTIAL with a great small/mid-size company! Define, design, and implement control systems for a variety of processes spanning multiple industries as a Senior Control System Engineer. Depending upon interest and skills, a hybrid role is possible including a business development component, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements for qualified engineers. This is a FULL CYCLE controls engineering position where you'll handle electrical drawings, panel designs, PLC programming from scratch, and commissioning. Program Allen-Bradley hardware including MicroLogix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and PanelView to control a variety of fluid processes while mechanically and electrically troubleshooting difficult equipment problems. Work on process controls across diverse industries with on-site startup, commissioning, and problem-solving responsibilities.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs (or Siemens PLCs)
- Ability to program Allen Bradley PLCs FROM SCRATCH required
- 2+ years of experience programming FactoryTalk PanelView
- Experience in site commissioning and startup of control systems
- Process controls background strongly preferred
- Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware: MicroLogix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and PanelView
- Ability to program, create, read, and edit logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, single lines, and P&IDs
- AutoCAD proficiency for electrical drawings and panel designs
- PLC ladder logic expertise required
- Experience performing/verifying process/control design for projects (PLCs, networks, drives, instrumentation, control panels)
- Ability to mechanically and electrically troubleshoot difficult equipment problems
- Experience with testing and refurbishing PLC modules, HMIs, and electrical hardware
- Full cycle controls engineering experience: electrical drawings, panel designs, PLC programming, and commissioning
