Technology Operations Specialist - Classified FLSA: Non-exempt 240 Days Salary Range: $52,725.89 - $73,236.48

General Statement of Job

The Technology Operations Specialist serves as a liaison between IT department staff and the Network Operations group. Assists as required to implement, configure, maintain, and support internal and external Microsoft and other district networks. Resolves network performance issues and provides support as necessary to users.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and support of internal and external Microsoft networks and virtual machines. • Oversee the district's data backup systems, ensuring they are operational both at the district office and at disaster recovery sites. • Manage and support the Microsoft Office 365 products used by the district, ensuring they are effectively utilized and maintained. • Maintain and support the district's Storage Area Network (SAN), ensuring its functionality both at the district office and at disaster recovery sites. • Address and resolve network performance issues, providing necessary support to users to ensure optimal network functionality. • Evaluate and recommend upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment to enhance the district's network and systems. • Offer technical support and guidance to users, helping them navigate and resolve any issues they encounter. • Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security measures, and network configurations to ensure they meet the district's needs and standards. • Work extended workdays and/or irregular hours as required. Must be available for emergencies on an "on-call" basis. • Use a ticketing system to track and manage support requests, ensuring all issues are logged

Minimum Education and Training High school diploma required; Associate's degree in computer information systems recommended or technical certification preferred. Relevant Certifications: CompTIA A+ preferred, Microsoft Certifications, and Certified Cybersecurity Awareness Professional (CCAP) Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in computer system analysis, Information Technology support, programming and maintenance, preferably in an educational setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Proficiency within Windows and Microsoft environments. • Familiarity with networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, IP addressing). • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Customer service orientated and collaborative mindset. • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 use and administration, MS Visio, virtual networking, data backup systems, and network software. • Proficiency in troubleshooting software applications to identify and resolve issues related to software, hardware, or network components.

Physical Requirements

: Vision: Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods of time. Hearing: Ability to tolerate exposure to noisy conditions. Speech: Ability to be understood in face-to-face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone, computer, or virtual setting. Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers; twist and bend at wrist and elbows; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh fifteen (15) or more pounds on a frequent basis. Environmental Requirements: Ability to work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors; work outdoors as necessary for the position. Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information on a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a proficiency level appropriate to the position; sound judgement; the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.
