Summary: The PE VMI Battery Department is seeking a
highly motivated Electrical Field Engineer
to support vehicle battery engineering initiatives. This role focuses on leading production equipment development, installation, and confirmation for new model product launches across North American manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead battery pack assembly equipment development alongside site managers and global teams. Develop equipment specifications for vendor fabrication. Oversee and confirm equipment, conveyor systems, logistics, and operator interactions. Monitor and track equipment design, fabrication, and validation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering. Minimum 2 years of experience
with production equipment procurement, installation, and validation. Proficiency in
AutoCAD/Autodesk
(reading, interpreting, and modifying 2D drawings). Experience with
CATIA and/or SolidWorks
(reading, interpreting, and modifying 3D drawings). Strong skills in
MS Excel and PowerPoint. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and multiple shifts for tooling modifications and installations (potential 12-hour shifts, weekend work, and 25% overtime). Willingness to
travel up to 50%
domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
battery pack assembly processes. Experience in
assembly or body weld equipment procurement and validation. OSHA 10 certification. Robotics experience for 3D automation. Familiarity with
CARROT/DELMIA.
