This seasonal on-site role runs May – September at Wolfoods summer camp kitchens nationwide. This is a HANDS-ON & demanding position. All lead staff will live on site at the job location with room, board, & travel expense assistance provided. This position requires the ability to flawlessly execute the Wolfoods Camp Food Service Program, knowledge of food allergens, and the ability to create dishes for people with multiple dietary restrictions. The role involves planning, recipe execution, strict sanitation to avoid cross-contamination, and maintaining service timing, quantity, and quality for all meals and special requests. You will manage the duties of creating, implementing, and maintaining the Service & Culinary needs of the assigned camp and maintain a clean, comfortable dining environment in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities
Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner Develop effective staff schedules based on business levels and budget guidelines Coordinate side work for personnel and maintain dining hall cleanliness and sanitation standards Maintain appearance and uniform standards; be present on the dining floor during meal periods Collaborate with the chef on duty to maintain high standards of food presentation and sanitation Train and develop all front-of-house dining personnel; provide ongoing feedback on standards and performance Communicate daily with Head Chef and Camp Directors about dining hall operations; interact with diners for feedback Ensure dining hall readiness 15 minutes prior to service; implement dining hall checklists Follow Wolfoods initiatives for environmental practices to minimize waste and conserve resources Maintain knowledge of all menus and specifications; uphold dining hall standards Lead and manage all aspects of the food service operation to deliver high diner satisfaction while controlling budget and training staff Attend relevant meetings and events; manage payroll; handle special requests; respond to camp leadership concerns Demonstrate initiative, leadership, self-reliance, and sound judgment Plan, schedule, direct, and train; understand cross-utilization and production planning Place accurate food orders, manage inventory, and ensure health department sanitation standards Interact professionally with campers, staff, parents; ensure responsive communication Lead in planning, scheduling, directing, and training for service operations Operate within safety regulations and Wolfoods Standards of Service & Quality Qualifications
4+ years of Commercial Kitchen experience in a lead role Minimum three professional references with application ServSafe Manager Certification required; ServSafe Allergens Certification preferred (company sponsored) Ability to work a 6-day week; long hours; ability to stand for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must live on-site in a rural setting (shared living spaces possible) Experience with high-volume production and scratch cooking; capable of planning and executing menus Strong leadership, communication, and computer literacy skills Ability to work under pressure in varying temperatures; maintain accuracy in timing, quantity, quality, and plating Commitment to food safety and allergy accommodations Ideal Candidates
