Job Summary The Office of Admissions is currently seeking an energetic, hardworking and professional student to serve as a student recruitment specialist at FIU. Students will have opportunities for professional development, become well informed on university departments, be part of a selective team, and have the opportunity to show FIU spirit by giving tours of the campus to prospective students throughout the year.
Responsibilities
Conduct tours of MMC to prospective students and select university partners and stakeholders.
Staff the Office of Admissions welcome desk to answer questions and provide information to prospective students.
Input contact card information into the FIU database for prospective students.
Manage and create content for the Join FIU social media accounts.
Create welcome packets with FIU collateral pieces for prospective student groups, FIU departments, and Office of Admissions recruiters.
Maintain and update an inventory list of materials and supplies for admissions-related events.
Support supervisors with annual Admissions events, including Fall Showcase and Admitted Student Day at MMC and BBC.
Remain up to date on FIU policies and practices to accurately inform prospective students about University details.
Receive and maintain all trainings/licenses related to Admissions/Enrollment functions (e.g., working the reception area, Live Chat, etc.).
Perform other related duties as required or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude assignment of related duties.
Qualifications Desired Qualifications
Customer service knowledge.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
Consistent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
Experience in a customer service environment.
Experience with university admissions process.
Experience managing and creating social media content for professional accounts.
Who May Apply
Students enrolled at FIU who have Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a degree program or Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
FWS employment must end upon credits decreasing, award cancellation, or graduation.
Work Schedule 20 hours/week, depending on FWS Award and availability. Varied shifts. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.
Advertised Salary $13.00/Hour
