Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional

Special Education Autism Programs Teacher

with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who desire to serve where their efforts matter. In BPS, teachers and leaders are committed to high expectations for achievement, equitable access to instruction, academic proficiency for all students, and closing achievement gaps among subgroups. Reports To: Principal/Head of School Responsibilities Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks, including identifying access points for student portfolio development. Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to facilitate understanding and progress in the general curriculum. Write and implement goals based on student IEPs, providing regular progress reports. Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and analyze student work for assessments like MCAS Alternative. Collaborate with staff to support student modifications. Assist students transitioning to adult living services when appropriate. Core Competencies:

Reflect on practice, seek feedback, participate in adult learning communities. Qualifications - Required Bachelor's degree. Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the relevant grade level. Either ESL License or SEI Endorsement. Meet all licensing and qualification standards. Authorization to work in the U.S. by start date. Qualifications - Preferred Experience in urban schools. Degree in Special Education. Fluency in BPS official languages such as Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali is valued. Certification in content area and in Moderate Disabilities and/or ESL is preferred.
