Department Information The California Department of Developmental Services (Department) provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. Services are delivered through state‑operated developmental centers, community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The Department is located at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California.

Responsibilities Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), you will plan, organize, and direct the work of the Estimates Unit staff to prepare local assistance regional center caseloads and cost estimates for inclusion in the state budget process. You will also prepare estimates of fiscal and caseload impacts of proposed state and federal legislation, proposed regulations, and program policy changes. You will prepare estimates of the fiscal and caseload impacts of Public Records Act and other inquiries, and work under fast‑paced conditions and irregular hours during peak workload periods. You will maintain excellent, consistent attendance and adhere to State and departmental policies and procedures.

Working Conditions Hybrid in‑office/telework. May be required to report to the office or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Must live and work in California. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate. Requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas.

Special Requirements The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be numbered in the same order as the following areas, typed in 12‑point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length.
