Responsibilities

Provide input and guidance to designs and development of competitive electromechanical solutions.

Perform product design activities including requirements capture, detailed design and analysis, component selection, troubleshooting, technical reviews, and qualification/certification activities.

Participate in new product development, support design for manufacturability, critical design reviews, and manufacturing readiness.

Interpret and generate engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5.

Perform basic mechanical analysis (kinematics, tolerance stack‑ups, strength, robustness, environmental impacts).

Identify and analyze potential failure modes and recommend design improvements.

Review customer specifications and statement of work to ensure technical compliance.

Ensure timely completion of projects to meet strategic and financial goals.

Design new products and modify existing products to meet customer, manufacturing, regulatory, industry standard, and market requirements.

Provide technical support, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, testing, program management, suppliers, and customers).

Evaluate design changes for impact on product design, cost, and schedule.

Participate in the program Change Control Board (CCB) to review documentation for qualification and certification.

Support trade studies and proposals.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.

8+ years of related work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Self‑directed with minimal supervision required.

Strong knowledge of engineering science, tools, and processes.

Proficiency with modeling and simulation software and Siemens NX (or similar).

Ability to select appropriate materials and understand manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, heat treatment, surface treatment, molding, additive manufacturing).

Proficiency with organizational standards, compliance, and safety requirements for aerospace applications.

Working knowledge of statistical analysis methods and classical equations.

Understanding of load paths, structural stability, and aircraft behavior.

Project management and documentation skills.

Commitment to continuous learning and development; familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning is a plus.

Adherence to safe work practices.
