Base pay range $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members.
Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
Recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade‑up and/or companion items.
Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash and distribute change, process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Take customer to OTC aisle when possible.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required.
Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, and checking for possible interactions.
Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures concerning pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
Process manual claims for third party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies.
Use first in, first out method for stock rotation.
Provide customer service in the photo area and related services.
Assume web pick‑up responsibilities.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure clean, neat, orderly store condition.
Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate and acquire continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
